Signs up the antenatal program organise by KK, and attends with Jeffrey. Have been 3 classes now.
I remember during the 1st class, the lecturer tells us for our class, the husbands look more pregnant than the wives. well for our class, the husbands are indeed quite "heavy-weight"... hehe....
we do pick up a few things from these classes, and good to see that there are many good caring husbands around.
during 1 of the lectures, there are many stalls on baby products, baby care/development, motherhood need-knows, confinement-catered-meals, pregnancy-massage, maternity photography etc set-up outside the lecture theatre, for young parents like us. Ok, basically the stalls are there to do business, but we get to learn a lot as well.
2 of the stalls that catch our attention are baby education. there are actually teaching classes for babies starting from 6 months onwards. we go and see-see-look-look. Jeffrey browse through the class contents, course fees and materials and whisper to my eyes, "Dear, I think these classes for babies 6 months-12months are nonsenic." I do agree with him to a certain extent.
Well, the classes will serve their purpose, but we still think for babies 1 year old and lesser, their job is just to eat, sleep, laugh, poo, grow etc. and to regconise important faces. the rest really comes in too early.

1 thing we pick up from the lectures as well is that calcium only absorbs by the body if we get enough sunlight. as the doctor says my blood count is good, so I do not need to take any supplements etc, though I still continue my multi-vitamins, which includes calcium content.
Jeff decides that we will walk to the market and light-walk in the mornings if we can, instead of driving. hopefully to get all sunlight and fresh air at this time, so that my calcium absorption will be healthy.
i agree... :)

Size Increment: Breasts; Waist; Feet
There is a need to shop for some necessities over the weekend, as being in the office for hours and daily operations makes me realise the following discomfort:
a) Breasts --> E80: The sides of my chest aches a little and my breasts are practically spilling out of the bra cups. Have been complaining, and adjusting my bra on-off continuously which can be quite disturbing.
"Upgrading" to E80 cup is not very exciting. OK, I am quite "full" before I am pregnant, a good C cup I should say. I foresee my breasts will still "grow" in the months to come. I think any size bigger than F, I tell Jeffrey I really don't koe wat to buy anymore. Really don't want to end up shopping for bras at people's park.
If my breasts are not very "appealing" after pregnancy, maybe I will consider a boob job....
b) Waist --> XL mid-low-waist panties: Well, I should say waistless now. Have been wearing G-Strings and L size panties before pregnancy. Since pregnant, I bought the cheap XL, XXL panties to prevent exerting any pressure on my tummy.
This time round I have outgrown the normal biggest size panties that I have bought 4 months ago.
So go and shop for pregnancy panties. I buy the mid and low waist set, rather than the high waist set, as I have many sexy tops to wear, of which some are translucent at the waist area. I do not want to see my panties showing so high, quite orbit though.
c) Feet --> Size 6: After knowing that I am pregnant, I buy a pair of shoes and sandals from Scholl, size 5. My shoe size has been 4 1/2 all along. Now my feet aches at the sole area, as after my feet grows, they outgrow the shoes I am wearing. An about an inch of my feet is out of the shoes, which hurts as I walk. The skin at the sole area also thickens. Honestly I do not notice until Jeffrey tells me my feet has grown. So need to buy shoes and sandals for walking comfort.
Think the logic of Pressure = Force/Area does come into play now.

Dark Armpits ; Burp
Dark armpits: My armpits are practically a dark brown patch when i look into the mirrors now. Maybe i should get a tan, so that when I lift my arms, my armpits dun look so distinguished.
Burp: I can really burp now, even just drinking water. sometimes it is so uncontrolled that i feel embarassed myself. well, i work in a german company. with these german colleagues ard, they will always say "bless you" when u sneeze. and burping, they will look at you, like wanting to get some sort of explanation.
i am glad i am excused at work place.

Big Appetite
i get very hungry easily now. and it is such a 180degrees difference/change compared to a few months ago.
am trying to eat many small meals to satisfy the hunger. will cut down on buffets, and even if i go for them, i will not stuff myself to the fullest. afraid of constipation as well.
the hungry feeling is sometimes so strong, that i feel my whole stomach is empty. i hear no juices though, but just pure hungry.

Constipation and Intermittent Sleep
Am 5 months to date, and have been experiencing constipation and intermittent sleep, which cause me to be quite flustered during the day.
constipation: i have drink a lot of water and eat fibre, and still has quite "solid" constipation. when the feeling comes, going to the toilet can be a battle. gynae ask me not to squeeze too hard, so i am always praying, and hoping for the shit to move faster inch by inch, till "they" reach the anus and out they go. yes, sounds gross. gynae ask me to try breathing method, and well doing this breathing exercise in the toilet is not very entertaining.
intermittent sleep: i have not have a full 7-8 hours sleep at one go for a long time. will wake up 2-3 times at least a night. sometimes to the toilet, sometimes because of dreams. but sometimes i will wake up and open my eyes automatically, and will be quite difficult getting back to sleep.
these causes me to be tired, sianz and flustered during day times. and also shorter concentration span.

Milk powder ; Snacks ; Weight Gain
i bring a bottle of pregnant multi-vitamins and emma milk powder while going to visit the gynae, to show her the label/contents on these 2 bottles.
-- multi-vitamins: she mentions i can continue with these multi-vitamins, and take it as an alternate basis. so 1 day iron & folic acid pills for me, the next day 1 serving of multi-vitamins.
-- milk powder: the direction on the milk powder mentions to drink 2-3 cups a day, with 5-6 scoops of milk powder to warm water.
my gynae tells me not to take milk powder everyday as a regular item. but rather to drink it as a snack or when i feel like it. jeff and me ask "why?". she mentions many of her patients who drinks milk powder regularly everyday puts on a lot of weight, but the baby weight gain is not in proportionate. she mentions if i have no appetite, i can drink the milk powder. but if i am eating well, no need for regular/often drinking basis. we heed her advice.
-- snacks: right now, i do not have cravings of potato cheaps or twisties as snacks. so, so far still ok. i have stock-up fruits in office and at home. and also tunas, peanut butter and jams. so if i feel like snacking or eat something, i will eat fruits or soda biscuits with the toppings. else, i will drink milk or milk powder.
-- weight gain: i shall buy a weighing scale at home. will monitor weight gain now, and i hope i gain weight slowly and in moderations.
realise i am taking more efforts in my nutrition lately, and more afraid of too much weight gain. last time i always have the concept, pregnant is the happiest time, cause dun have to worry about the extra pounds i gain, as i love to eat.
wonder if i love to look better in this phase of my life or a maternal instinct, or physchoed by jeffrey tang, that i look into healthy eating now and just want a balance including my weight gain. more weight-conscious compared to pre-pregnancy. strange. :)

DHA, Calcium and Iron pills ; Put-on 2.8kg in 1 month
We go for check-up yesterday. glad everything goes ok. :)
i put on 2.8kg in the past month, which to the gynae is ok. she mentions to me to be ideal to put on 12-14kg in my pregnancy. i will come to the weight part in another topic.
jeff's colleague tells him his wife request for DHA pills, aka fish oil (good for baby's brain), and the gynae gives the pills to his wife in accordance.
so jeff ask about the need for prescription of DHA and calcium pills to me, and whether to continue with the iron pills.
the gynae tells me my blood count is very good. so for iron pills i will now take alternate days, instead of on a daily basis. she also mentions that she will advise not to prescribe DHA and calcium pills for me, since my blood count is good. and she is a firm believer in balance nutrition and just eat enough fishes will do, and not overeat. as she mentions as well that another side-effect of DHA pills is the fact of deep sea fish having mercury. so it is practically a 2-edge sword topic. then i ask about eating "shark's fins soup" at weddings. she mentions the shark's fins soup has only little sharks fins and taking a bowl once every week is harmless, none compared to the DHA pills.
well, so jeff and KK gynae just go nodding heads, while i listen. well their so called tagline "everythings just eat, but in moderations". i can hear jeff says this a few times every dae. so naggy.
it looks as if jeff is pregnant rather than me. am glad he actually talks to his colleagues to find out things as well, which although i think i already done enough homework. :)
