Good and bad news

Bad news: my mum's right hand has no feelings now. we saw it coming, as the doctor says the cancer cells have spread and her tumor at the lymphs are pressing on her nerves, which results in the pain and slowly numbness, followed by no feelings.
mum is mentally prepared and so far she is coping well. i should not complain further if she is strong but to support her in watever ways i can.

good news:..... shall update in a few months. if u are reading this and guessing, yes you are right.

Life with jet

our life indeed is different now with a kid. tiring happy and time past really fast, watching our boy grow up everydae. i will not call it a roller-coaster ride yet, but definitely i tink jeff and me are trying to balance tings out, so that we can still have our own time, go for our careers and working on our dreams while upholding all the responsibilities. life....

we are glad with some of the decisions made earlier, that is stay close to our 4 parents. it really helps a lot, and more people helping to take care of him, one aspect is healthy that jet feels the love of many people and 2, more sense of security for us that when we are in need of someone eyeing jet, we have many options, and not feel guilty that we are exhausting either my dad or my MIL solely, becos taking care of a kid can be tiring.

jet has indeed bring a lot a lot of fun, surprises and laughter into our lives. its amazing to see how your kid resembles you facially, habitually and characteristically. watching him sleep, i can do tat for hours, and that is one of the most beautiful moments or things i love to do/treasure, other than bathing him.
we tried to have sex once while he is beside us and asleep. jet wakes up suddenly and watch us wide-eyed. we burst out laughing and immediately drop watever we are doing and dad carrys him out to have a walk, while i dress-up. funny experience but memorable. felt quite of guilty too.

planning for Jet's birthday

to date, jet is 10+ months old, and jeff and me are planning how to celebrate his 1-year old birthday on the 19th april 2009. we decide to celebrate only with our immediate family members with a meal, a lovely birthday cake, and to give jet a big ang pao for him to save in his ocbc savers account, for future perusal.

venue wise, we decide either to cook at home for our 3 families, or hold a table back at mariott again, the hotel which we fall in love and hold our wedding there. we have accumulated enough points to stay occasional free nights at mariott hotels worldwide, partly due to my travelling for work too.

keeping the day simple, warm and memorable, for our jet. :)

Shots taken in between my contractions

Ask Jeff to smuggle some cotton dweet candy for me. I am so tired that after hours, I tell jeff dun even bother to tok to me anymore.
I tried laughing gas and all else, and am really really tired after 5hrs+ of pain.
the most irritating part is the doctor-on-parol coming in to check dilation width with FINGERS!!!
by the time the doctor insert the 4th finger, i scolded "remove the fingers and f*** off, tat's bloody painful".
jeff apologise to the doctor, and i apologise later after 1 contraction ended...

The story begins....

Am on the way to work on 16th april 2008. Took 154 and alight at Jurong interchange. There is a pasar-malam, so I bought breakfast. I chose Ramly beef burger, bought a packet of durians and a coconut. And yes this is for breakfast, don't ask me why this weird combination.

The pain comes when I am buying ramly burger. It worsens and gets periodic. Description is like leg cramp, jus that the cramp is not on the legs, but like a rope tightening the tummy. It happens when i m queuing for the ramly burger. The irritating uncle still asks me as I look in pain and bends slightly "do you still want your burger?"

gosh, i paid the $, of course I want the burger. Thought it is false alarm as it is only 36 weeks, but the pain is getting untolerable. so i decided to take a cab to KK, at the roadside near bus interchange.
on the way, i called jeff. both of us agree and tink that should be false alarm labor pain, but go to hospital and check no harm.

at the hospital, upon scanning and checking, gynae-on-parol tells me i have dilated 4cm and have to stay in hospital, as delivery is anytime now. of course i am surprise, and called jeff to come and make admin arrangements. haiz, we have not choose the bed and worst of all, all baby stuff we have not buy yet, as parents say we have to wait till alst month then buy --> bantung.
jeff assures me, and tells me not to worry about anyting else. jus go and deliver.

the 1st ting that i ask jeff to help --> bring the video cam. I wan to film the whole delivery process!!! i am brought to the delivery labor room immeidiately, as my contractions is getting more regular.
